“I got robbed”- Petr Yan is furious over judges’ decision to announce Aljamain Sterling as the undisputed bantamweight champion

Petr Yan
Petr Yan faced his arch-nemesis, Aljamain Sterling at the co-main event of UFC 273 for the undisputed bantamweight title. He lost his belt t Sterling after hitting him with an illegal knee back at UFC 259. He was unhappy with the way things turned out, and he waited for 13 months to get his hands on the champ.
Sterling was coming off from career-changing neck surgery, and he was out of action for over 9 months. Yan, on the other hand, fought Cory Sandhagen for the interim bantamweight title, and he looked better than ever. The fight started and Sterling took a more measured approach, he took his time to feel out his opponent in the first round, and Yan was fighting a little too emotionally.

The third round went exactly the same, and Sterling punished Yan on the ground. Petr knew he was losing the fight, and he made a comeback in the championship rounds.
Petr Yan demands an immediate rematch against Aljamain Sterling

Sterling got the win via split decision, and he was overwhelmed by emotions after this. He grabbed the mic to have a word with his haters, and he sure cursed a lot. He called for a fight against the former bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw, and TJ responded to the call-out. Joe Rogan interviewed Yan after the fight and he wasn’t happy with the decision.
He believes he easily won the 1,4 and 5th rounds, and the referees should’ve given him the edge. Yan was planning on dominating Sterling in this fight, but things didn’t turn out exactly as planned. He called for an immediate rematch but we’re not sure if Sterling is interested in a trilogy fight against him.
