UFC planning to re-book Khamzat Chimaev vs Leon Edwards in January

Khamzat Chimaev vs Leon Edwards has been cancelled for December 19 and now, it looks like the UFC is trying to re-book it in January.
The highly anticipated Khamzat vs Edwards was initially scheduled to take place on the 19th of December, but it has been pushed to a later date – possibly January, due to the Brit, Leon Edwards contracting COVID-19. It has been learnt that Leon Edwards’s COVID symptoms are pretty severe, causing him to lose 12 pounds in only 4 days.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN took to Twitter to reveal that Leon Edwards is currently in the process of recovery and that the plan currently is to re-book the fight in January and keep the fight to five rounds.
“The current hope for Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev is to re-book it in January” – Brett Okamoto on Twitter
“Per sources, Leon Edwards’ (@Leon_edwardsmma) case of Covid-19 was pretty severe. He couldn’t train at all, and he lost 12 pounds in four days. He’s in the process of recovering at home. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery,” Okamoto tweeted.
Later, Okamoto tweeted, “The current hope for Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev is to re-book it in January and keep it five rounds, I’m told. No date yet, but that’s the hope.”
Khamzat Chimaev has been on a roll, ever since making his debut in the UFC. He has destroyed all three of his opponents, with the most recent being Gerald Meerschaert. Leon, on the other hand hasn’t fought since July 2019! And, now it is almost confirmed that he will be going the entire 2020 without a single fight.
What do you make of this? Should the ‘ever hungry’ Khamzat Chimaev wait until the UFC re-book the fight? Or should he look for another opponent in the meantime? What do you think is more likely to happen?
