UFC President Dana White calls Bob Arum a “f****** scumbag” after remarks about money lost due to boxer Terence Crawford
Dana White was interviewed at a post press conference of his Contender Series about Bob Arum

Dana White rarely hesitates to put down his well known promotional rival, Bob Arum. He took shots at him on Tuesday at a press conference after his Contender Series 36 regarding a statement he made about a fighter he promotes.

Terrence Crawford, who has held the WBO welterweight championship since 2018 is promoted by Arum. He currently remains undefeated with 37 wins and zero losses. Crawford remains successful in his division and is yet to face higher-level athletes.

He managed to emerge victorious after his title defense against Kell Brook on Saturday night. After this event. Arum had opened up to ‘The Athletic’ saying “He’s got to promote like (unified lightweight champion Teofimo) Lopez does. He’s got to promote like (former featherweight champion) Shakur (Stevenson) does. Like (Floyd) Mayweather did. Like (Manny) Pacquiao did. If he doesn’t, then who the f*** needs him? He may be the greatest fighter in the world, but, hey, I ain’t going bankrupt promoting him.”

He claimed to have lost a lot of money trying to promote him and said “I could build a house in Beverly Hills on the money I lost on him in the last three fights.”

Dana loses his cool with promoter Bob Arum

Dana White was asked about Arum’s statement at his Contender Series 36 post-fight news conference on Tuesday night. The president was not even the least but thrilled and lashed out by the comment made about promoting Crawford.

The president basically said that he feels it is in no way an issue of Crawford but something the promoter has to deal with. The promoter has to figure out how he must promote the fighter and ensure he gets paid.

Can you imagine if I said that?” White said. “Are you (expletive) kidding me? You guys would murder me if I said that. I’d never hear the end of that. That’s what you do. That’s not (Crawford’s) (expletive) problem, that’s your problem.

His problem isn’t to figure out how you make money. You (expletive) signed a deal with this kid, at how many people we have on the roster, our roster is very inflated right now. We have a very big roster, the biggest roster we’ve ever had in the history of the company. I have to pay all these kids. How I pay them is not their (expletive) problem. It’s my (expletive) problem.“

He then continued about how people would insult him if he were to make a big issue out the money he has to pay Conor McGregor who brings in the highest money to the UFC after once securing both Lightweight and Featherweight titles.

Imagine me saying ‘oh, I gotta pay Conor McGregor this much money, I could have built a house in Beverly Hills.’ Shut the (expletive) up, you (expletive) scumbag. Pay your (expletive) fighter what you owe him, do you job. Bob Arum is a piece of (expletive) (expletive).”

Dana tore into Arum regarding this and it is safe to say that his liking towards the promoter is never going to get better. Should promoters be able to say such things when it literally their fighters putting a roof over their head?
