The UFC has held events all around the world, with MMA fans spread across the globe. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to attend a UFC fight for many. However, some places have yet to witness Dana White‘s juggernaut live. Lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan recently made a revelation regarding the first UFC event in the Arab country of Qatar.
‘Ahalkalakets’ was seen speaking to Russian reporter Adam Zubayraev concerning his next fight. Tsarukyan revealed that he talked to White regarding his next opponent. He admitted that he wished to fight lightweight champion Ilia Topuria for the belt, but ‘El Matador’ was not available until early 2026.
I talked to the boss yesterday. They said maybe they’ll set up a fight with someone in Abu Dhabi or Qatar. There is a tournament in Qatar, the want to make a fight with someone there. Maybe Gaethje, maybe Hooker, or maybe that guy Paddy.

Tsarukyan revealed that he offered to fight Justin Gaethje, Dan Hooker, and Paddy Pimblett. However, the 28-year-old believed that fighting Pimblett was the best course of action for a shot at the championship. Despite being reminded by Zubayraev about Pimblett’s hopes to fight for the title, Tsarukyan believed that a victory over the Scouser would cement his claim for the title shot.
The Armenian superstar has had an online beef with Pimblett, and the two have gone back and forth. Pimblett recently called out Tsarukyan for stealing middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev‘s spotlight after his win at UFC 319. Tsarukyan believes that Pimblett does not deserve the title shot but will get it due to “Dana White privilege”.
However, Tsarukyan has also called out Pimblett in the past. ‘Ahalkalakets’ undermined Pimblett’s ability to beat a top-ranked fighter and viewed the Scouser as an easy challenge. It remains to be seen who Tsarukyan will face if he gets to fight in Qatar. Nonetheless, it will be historic as Tsarukyan is the No. 2 ranked in the lightweight division, and the first-ever UFC event in Qatar is sure to make headlines.
The UFC’s long-awaited debut in Qatar could deliver a spectacle that blends world-class mixed martial arts with the country’s trademark flair for global sporting events. The atmosphere would be electrifying, with traditional music, cutting-edge production, and the UFC’s iconic walkouts all incorporating local culture.
A program involving worldwide names as well as growing talent from the area might be a turning point for MMA in Qatar, cementing the country’s status as a new combat sports powerhouse and expanding the UFC’s reach deeper into Arab countries.
Arman Tsarukyan and Paddy Pimblett trash-talks needs a stage to be settled
Tsarukyan and Pimblett are at the center of a heated rivalry. Both fighters disregarded each other’s claims to fight Ilia Topuria for the lightweight championship. Tsarukyan had some strong words for ‘The Baddy’ after the latter claimed to leapfrog the Armenian to gain a shot at the title.

Pimblett disregarded Tsarukyan and believed that he was not fit to fight for the title after pulling out of UFC 311. He called Tsarukyan a “little rich boy” and “posh boy”, hinting at Tsarukyan’s roots and family. However, the Armenian took to X to call out and furiously reply to Pimblett’s claims.
You’re a nobody, a trash can at most. Daddy Dana fed you a couple senior citizens to build your hype. That’s all you are, hype. I earned everything in my career, nothing was handed to me you bum. Now sit down and wait until Daddy tells you what to do.

The Armenian contender’s remarks were directed toward Pimblett, whose rise in the UFC has often been tied to his charisma and marketability rather than high-ranked competition. Tsarukyan has frequently expressed frustration at promotional favoritism given to more popular fighters in the division.
In fact, all three of the UK native’s previous opponents were aged over 35. Some believe the UFC consistently try to keep Pimblett away from dangerous matchups. As such, it remains to be seen if Tsarukyan and Pimblett will ever fight as contenders or if one would have to win the UFC gold to be pitted against each other.
