Robert Whittaker comments on Israel Adesanya's gynecomastia
Robert Whittaker commented on Israel Adesanya’s comment ahead of their bout at UFC 271.
Israel developed a condition of gynecomastia due to excessive consumption of marijuana. For which his right pectoral muscle appears to be swollen, inviting attention in the MMA community. There is not any conclusive evidence about the cause of gynecomastia. However, it can be caused by drug consumption, alcohol consumption, or by taking steroids.
So, needless to say, Adesanya’s condition created a lot of buzz around the MMA world. Hence, to clarify the doubts Israel said:
“My pituitary gland was checked, hormone levels are fine, estrogen and testosterone. Yesterday we had an ultrasound and a mammogram. I had one for the first time. To be honest it might have just been unhealthy living a little bit. Like a smoking weed, that’s what the doctor from the UFC said. He said I need to stop but I’m not stopping, I’m just going to slow down on smoking weed.” to MMA Hour.
According to him, the reason behind his condition is an unhealthy lifestyle. Refuting the accusations of steroid use he said: “F*** no, F*** No! I’m not one of those people who needs a crutch… skills pay the bills.”
Robert Whittaker comments on Israel Adesanya’s gynecomastia
Recently, Robert Whittaker was talking to Brown Campbell of Morning Combat. Where Campbell funnily asked a question regarding Adesanya’s right nipple( gynecomastia).
Whittaker tittered to the question and responded while laughing: “Honestly I don’t think about it too much.”
When Brown again asked Whittaker to explain the situation, he again responded saying: “I don’t know“. Well, it is certain that Whittaker doesn’t want to make fun of or accuse Adesanya of his condition. He wants to be focused more on his fight at UFC 271.
Following their first fight, Robert was not himself and was close to even quitting from the UFC. He also blames his ego and overconfidence for his loss against Adesanya. Consequently, he is trying to avoid all such distractions ahead of their fight to get a different result this time. On the other hand, Adesanya feels that it will be quite silly of Whittaker to believe that he has a blueprint of Adesanya’s weaknesses (directing towards his loss against Jan).
