“Smesh Bros”- Darren Till quips about a Netflix show documenting his new-found friendship with Khamzat Chimaev
Darren Till- Khamzat Chimaev
Looks like UFC Middleweight Darren Till has found a fun partner in UFC Welterweight Khamzat Chimaev and it’s going to go a rather long way, enough to one day feature in a documentary. Till, who lost 4 of his last 5 fights and got finished in 3 of them, chose to elevate his fighting style when he hopped into a plane for Switzerland to train with Chimaev and the rest of the legendary Swedish fighters like Alexander Gustaffson and Ilir Latifi.
Chimaev on the other hand is on a meteoric rise in the UFC as he is going to fight the #2 ranked welterweight in Gilbert Burns in just his 5th UFC appearance in April at UFC 273. Chimaev rose to fame in 2020 when he fought and won his first two UFC fights within a span of 10 days at 2 different weight classes of middleweight and welterweight, finishing both his opponents. In his third fight, Chimaev scored a 17-second first-round knockout victory against Gerald Merrschaert who himself had a 94% finish rate. In his last fight returning after a year layoff, Chimaev fought a ranked opponent in Li Jingliang who he submitted within the first round.
Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev are now training partners at All-Stars Training Center
In an Instagram post below, Darren Till posts a picture of himself showing the middle finger while beside him Chimaev stares towards the camera like Till whilst holding a magazine. In the picture above there’s a logo of Netflix on the left-hand corner and on the top centre is written “NETFLIX ORIGINAL- Smesh Bros- 3 May/ Netflix”
It seems rather evident that Till has unexpectedly found a second home in Switzerland with the way he vibes with Chimaev on different occasions, whether it’s associated with training or having fun. It would be intriguing for the fans to look out for what adjustments will Till introduce in his fighting style in order to get back on the winning track.
What do you make of Till‘s Instagram post hilariously teasing a Netflix show? Do you think a series made on them would be a huge hit for the premier streaming platform Netflix is? Who do you think should Till fight on his return? Also, who do you think wins between Chimaev and his toughest fight on paper, Gilbert Burns at UFC 273?
