Sneaky Boi Israel Adesanya expresses his love for sneakers

Israel Adesanya, the reigning UFC middleweight champ goes sneaker shopping with Complex’s Joe La Puma at Flight Club NYC, a premium sneaker store, and talks about what sneakers he wanted growing up, his love for the Yeezy Waverunners, and signing his Puma deal.
Adesanya remembers how he always looked forward to the non-uniform days or ‘Mufti days’ as he’d like to call it which is slang for casual wear at school. “…we paid to wear our clothes at school, ain’t that crazy?” the champ added as he explained to the host how the system works.
Izzy was most intrigued by the shoes which lit up on the sole with every step which he desired with all his heart but never got it back then. He added that he would probably go with kicks like that sometime soon.
Adesanya also had put up an Instagram post for crowdsourcing the new Nike AirMax 90s but went ahead to buy those for himself as he wasn’t as famous as he is now. Izzy freaks out about how Complex’s Joe La Puma (the host) had dug deep into the past of his Instagram posts to remind him of the pair of AirMax he wanted.
Joe(the host) proceeds to talk about how big of a fan Israel Adesanya is about pop culture, reminds him of Fat Joe licking the sole of a Nike’s OG ‘Olympic’ AirJordan 7s on an episode of MTV Cribs. “I got my first pair of Jordans and Timbs around ’15…” telling the story as to how late he got the ‘dream pair’.

Izzy also talks about how he loves the Yeezys and especially the wave runners, “I like the wave runners, they look cool, they look sleek, they kinda like… the patterns man. wavey.” Joe then talks about how Izzy was the first MMA athlete to sign for Puma, which he did in 2020 which the champ felt like it was a ‘Big Deal’, especially for an MMA athlete. A crossed item from the bucket list, he says.
Joe and Izzy geek about more sneakers and talk about how Puma gives the freedom of expression to someone they sign on, they also talk about the ‘Project Rock’ Under Armour sliders by Dwayne “The Rock” Jhonson.
