The thought “Love it when a plan comes together” is a line from The A-Team (a 2010 film). Ex-UFC star Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson had a big role in the lineup. Well, blame Justin Timberlake for his plan not coming together. 14 years after their movie, Jackson recently revealed that Timberlake ruined his crush, dating Jessica Biel!
The former UFC star’s role of B.A. Baracus was a fan-favorite at the time. Somewhat true to his original character, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson embodied a no-nonsense sergeant, high-octane operator, and a religion-man that would give others a run for their money. Jessica Biel played as a rival team member, and later sides with the team’s cause. Jackson revealed it was while working together that he developed a liking for her.
This is a true story, I never asked her out on a date. But this is what happened—she used to come to my trailer all the time and play Call of Duty with me. She is like super cool. She is cool as fu*k…After the fight with Rashad, we went on a media tour, and I haven’t had a crush on anyone since high school—but I started to get a crush on Jessica Biel just cause of how cool she was.

In a sit-down with co-hosts T.J Dillashaw and Bear Degidio, the trio argued about Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba; ‘Rampage’ corrected it was Biel who was in the movie with him and opened up on the finer details. Unlucky for him, Jessica Biel would marry Timberlake the next year, and the duo would have two kids together.
To cap it off, the frame also collided with his fight tour and media sit-downs against Rashad Evans at UFC 114. ‘Rampage’ already had a strained running with the UFC boss and even sniped him for lesser fighter compensations. His period in this movie strained it even further; however, the American fighter remembered the phase as the good old days.
Quinton Jackson once talked about the reality of starring in movies in the early UFC days
UFC fighters starring in movies was a whole other reality a while back. Now, a straight-cut, plaid reboot could have 59% Critics, a 55% Audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and high IMDb ratings. Back then, Zuffa-era roster names had very little take on their ancillary rights in perpetuity.

It carried over with CEO Dana White, Frank, and Lorenzo Fertitta, and big perpetuity royalty payments and such weren’t a thing; neither was repping brands. On a recent ‘Jaxxon Podcast’ episode, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson reiterated why he had less freedom to act in stuff during his UFC tenure.
First, there was managerial repping, and Jackson had the same entity in both cases. So, accordingly, they’d keep the UFC’s interests first. Second – there was brand repping, PPV sale output, and who the litigation thought was a better brand face.
Jackson was part of the historic Nike ‘Human’ Chain commercial, which was a big thing. He was the first to do it from the UFC/MMA side of things, along with names like Maria Sharapova, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Lance Armstrong. Airing during the 2010 Winter Olympics (Vancouver), brass considered there were other names better for it than Jackson.
I’mma tell y’all something else fu*k it, I don’t give a fu*k — I’mma tell ya, I did a Nike commercial years ago. I did a Nike commercial, and they call up Dana White to ask for, like, some footage so they can use some footage. No MMA fighter had done a Nike commercial — First MMA fighter a Nike commercial, they they call Dana up and then they come back, and they tell me like, ‘what’s up with this Dana guy? He’s trying to talk us [into] putting Forrest Griffin in instead of you.’ Dana asked them to take me out and put Forrest Griffin in the f**king commercial.

The ex-light heavyweight champion learned the brass considered him more of a loose cannon back in the day. He’d later also quarry details about the Reebok UFC Fight Kit and Mixed Martial Arts Fan Apparel sponsorship. The deal did not grant him timely pay and compensations. These are a big part of why Jackson would part ways with the promotion.
