“Suck it up buttercup”- Ben Askren points out the hypocrisy on Jorge Masvidal’s side following the recent bust-up with Colby Covington

Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal settled their beef at the main event of UFC 272, these two were former best friends, but a series of unfortunate events made them hate each other. Covington got the last laugh by dominating Masvidal for over five rounds to get the victory in that ultimate grudge match, but their rivalry seemed far from over.
Masvidal was pissed off at Colby for talking trash about Masvidal’s kids and family, and he claimed that he drop Colby if he ever sees him on the street. Covington remained unfazed by his threats, and he trolled Masvidal on a constant basis after their fight. Just as everything was getting normal, Masvidal assaulted Colby in a restaurant in Miami, and it got so bad, that cops had to be called to resolve the situation.
According to ESPN MMA correspondent Mike Coppinger’s article- “According to the victim, Masvidal ran up from the left and sucked-punched him twice. One punch was to his mouth and the other to his left eye. During the attack, the victim claims Masvidal said, “you shouldn’t have been talking about my kids.” Masvidal repeated a similar statement on social media.”
In the further report, Covington added that he saw “three or four other unknown males” approaching him in an “aggressive manner,” so he pushed away before running “back into the Papi Steak restaurant, where he contacted police.” [h/t ESPN MMA]

The entire MMA community shamed Masvidal for this incident, and he might face felony charges for his actions. His formal rival, Ben Askren took to Twitter to express his disgust as he wrote, “Imagine having 25 minutes to punch someone as many times as you want legally, but you can’t get it done so you gotta sneak up at the steak house.”
He added, “The couple times I got beat up I just thought shit that sucked I should trained harder or employed better tactics. Not let me sneak up and attack him on the street bc I have anger/insecurity issues.“
“Jorge also talked about my family so he is being a hypocritical terd on top of all else. Suck it up butter cup, you got whipped. It happens sometimes,” Askren concluded.
