Kamaru Usman and Canelo Alvarez
Kamaru Usman who is currently the reigning Welterweight king is also the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC’s welterweight division. Canelo Alvarez on the other hand is considered to be the P4P in boxing is also the WBC, WBA, and WBO titleholder who is also the undisputed champ.
Kamaru says it would be an exciting matchup for the world to see and had never been done before. Kamaru and Canelo have been going back and forth indirectly for quite some time now. Kamaru was the initiator and challenged that he would step into the ‘Box‘ and change sports to prove he is the best, not only in the MMA arena but also in the Boxing world.
Kamaru said that this would be nothing like Floyd vs Conor as the duo were not in their prime[Floyd] or a master of Boxing[Conor], says that ‘They entertained the world with the way they talk’ but wasn’t much of an exciting fight. This indeed was true as Floyd was more of a defensive fighter and McGregor was more of an MMA athlete which made it quite predictable, Especially after Conor gassed out in the later rounds.

Usman talked about how his matchup with Canelo is going to be so much better and different than the Conor vs Mayweather fight. Conor was almost at the peak of his career in 2015 after which he defeated Nate Diaz after getting subbed in the first fight in 2016. Conor wasn’t exactly fighting the best guys in the division as they were still making their way to the top.
On the other hand, Floyd who was considered the best defensive boxer in the history of the sport was almost retired when he fought Conor in 2017. This matchup was great although left the fans with a ‘Bad aftertaste’ as it wasn’t what the fans expected to see.
Kamaru says that Canelo and he are going to have a banger of a fight as both of them are going to be entertaining in their fight and not the talk before it. Kamaru adds that he has the ‘Cajones‘ to come into Canelo’s sport while he is at his prime and beat him, which is going to be ‘The greatest event n history’ according to the Nigerian. He also adds that Dana White is going to support this and will make it happen with ease, if Canelo wants it too.
