“My body was dying”- TJ Dillashaw reveals the reason for using PEDs against Henry Cejudo

TJ Dillashaw

TJ Dillashaw, the former two times UFC bantamweight champion, is eyeing a championship fight in his return. Dillashaw relinquished his BW title after failing a drug test post his Flyweight debut against Henry Cejudo.

USADA suspended Dillashaw for two years. After the suspension was over, Dillashaw returned to the octagon and got to a decision victory over the top contender Cory Sandhagen. Dillashaw suffered major knee injuries in that fight and was required to have surgeries, which sat him out for another year.

Aljamain Sterling defended his bantamweight title against Petr Yan at the co-main event of UFC 273, and he grabbed the mic to call out TJ, who was in attendance for the event. He called him ‘Needleshaw’, and ‘Pillashaw.’ This was definitely a reference to his PED use in the past, and Dillashaw was fired up after this call-out.

“Thanks for the call out my little b**ch,” said Dillashaw in his response. “I hope you had fun pretending to be the champ because like I’ve always been saying, Daddy’s home. I’m getting that belt. Easy money.”

Dillashaw regrets his decision of moving down to the featherweight division, he said, “That’s why I f*cked up, man. My body was dying. It was telling me I couldn’t do it. I was below 4 percent body fat. I see pictures of myself. I thought I looked good at the time. I see pictures of myself, I looked like a crackhead. It was disgusting. I do and I don’t. I know it was a lot of work. I definitely regret it, because I wouldn’t have been sitting out for two years.”
