UFC featherweight Arnold Allen is nothing short of a serious contender for a title fight now. With someone on a 9-fight winning streak, right behind the current champion Alexander Volkanovski’s 11-fight winning streak, the Englishman has proved why he needs all the attention in the world after his last performance when he knocked out fellow featherweight and former renowned lightweight fighter in Dan Hooker in the first round at UFC London.

Allen is now waiting for his next fight as the featherweight division unfolds with exciting fights ahead. Recently, UFC 273’s main event comprised the featherweight title fight between the current champion Alexander Volkanovski and Chan Sung Jung. Volkanovski defeated Jung via TKO in the early seconds of round four. Before Allen, there are a lot of fighters ahead in the rankings such as Calvin Kattar, Brian Ortega, Max Holloway, Yair Rodriguez and Jung himself. Only UFC will tell which few fights would quickly bring Allen into title contention.

Taking damage from the last fight acts as a con for Max Holloway according to Arnold Allen

In an interview with Sky Sports, Allen talks about UFC 273, in which division UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev has more chances of becoming the UFC champion, his career so far and what’s ahead, and much more. Allen also talks about how a trilogy between preceding UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway and current champion Volkanovski would go out as per his prediction. Volkanovski has an edge over Holloway via decisions in the first two fights.

“I think Volkanovski would do it more decisively,” says Allen picking up the current champion to win in the trilogy “I think he’s going to come out and yeah, I don’t see Holloway really adapting and improving his game really, like from where he is, and he took a lot of damage from that last fight,” concludes Allen.

What do you make of Allen’s pick of Volkanovski over Holloway for the Volkanovski-Holloway 3 title fight? Who do you think wins the trilogy? Also, who do you think is next for Allen to get him closer to a title shot, or who will be his first bitter learning experience and hand him a loss as an upcoming prospect? The scene of the British MMA has never been prospering before and Allen is right on the front page of it, in a near stage to become the second British UFC champion after UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping.
