Dos Anjos is in a phase of his career that he calls as third title run which will also be most probably his last run for the UFC gold in his career. For a man who has fought only against the top of the fight game for 13+ straight years, Dos Anjos has not won against all but man he has fought against the likes of the who’s who of MMA. Dos Anjos’ prime time during his career came in between 2012-2015 when his only setback was a loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov, yet Dos Anjos managed to climb the rankings to fight for the title in his first run and become the UFC Lightweight Champion in 2015.

On being asked if the fight should’ve stopped after round 4, Dos Anjos gave his opinion as well.

“I thought so,” said Dos Anjos “I took my foot out of the gas because I knew I was four rounds ahead and he’s a hard guy to finish and so my coach said don’t take any risk just go there eat some time you know, walk around but that’s when I got caught right around and I think by taking my foot out of the gas he kind of recovered a little bit and felt more confident that’s why he comes for hard and throw those shots,” concludes Dos Anjos.
