Khabib Nurmagomedov shares his coaching secrets on how to build a champion mindset. After retiring from professional MMA, Nurmagomedov decided to give all his time towards helping the new generation to be great MMA fighters. The former UFC lightweight champion has always been active when it comes to providing training to other fighters.

Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, Usman Nurmagomedov, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Islam Mamedov are some of the fighters that ‘ The Eagle ‘ trains. Nurmagomedov’s old coach Javier Mendez also helps the Dagestani in this process. After his retirement till now, Nurmagomedov had an impeccable coaching record of 14-1, the only loss coming recently in January when Mamedov lost his bout at Bellator 273. 

In the United States, the American Kickboxing Academy acts as the base for Nurmagomedov’s team. As a young fighter, Nurmagomedov trained at AKA for all of his fights. Fans believe that years of training at AKA gym helped Nurmagomedov to enhance his striking and defense. This is the place he met Daniel Cormier and now both are very good friends.

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently posted a video on his official Instagram account. The video was a montage of him coaching and training at the AKA gym. In the video, the former UFC superstar revealed what’s the mantra for fighters at the AKA gym. Nurmagomedov explained that in the gym everything is all about discipline and hard work. “Everything is about discipline and every day Train, sleep, eat, repeat,” said Nurmagomedov. 

The undefeated fighter expressed that when very often people ask him about how he achieved so much in his career. According to Nurmagomedov, most of the preparation is about the mindset. “Everything about mental. You know like, people ask me like when you become champion, what you feel. No, in my mind I was always champion” said Nurmagomedov.

As an MMA fighter, Nurmagomedov has been on the pinnacle. Boasting an unparalleled professional record of 29-0, Nurmagomedov is one of the best to ever do it. Now as a coach, it will be interesting to see what he can achieve with his fighters.
