Colby Covington doesn’t fade away from having bad blood outside of his competition, ask Jon Jones about it. Covington is close to the date of his next fight as he is going to face his former friend turned rival Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. The bad blood between former teammates Masvidal and Covington is as real and deep as it could get and might possibly turn on to become one of the greatest rivalries in UFC history.
Jones on the other hand was last seen in 2020, with his last title defence of the light-heavyweight strap and last fight in the division itself as well. Jones is looking forward to having successful anatomy to become a heavyweight fighter as he decided a couple of years ago that he would like to test himself to the most powerful division in the roster. It’s more likely that by the end of this year, Jones might make his heavyweight debut.

Jones took to his Twitter to talk in regards to his September 2021 arrest due to domestic violence charges upon his fiance. Jones was arrested the same night he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame for his fight against Alexander Gustaffson back in 2013. Jones said “My fiancée left me about two months ago, today she finalized that she won’t be coming back. If you are a Jon Jones hater, have a toast, I feel like s***.”
Covington, Jones’ former college roommate who doesn’t have a good relationship with Jones anyway took to Twitter to make his response official and it was rather merciless. He said “Tremendous news. Guess you finally knocked some sense into her @johnnybones“ and below that posted a Leonardo Dicaprio meme of “cheers.”
