Colby Covington claps back at Tai Tuivasa and Alexander Volkanovski

Colby Covington clearly does not appreciate the Australian superstars, Alexander Volkanovski and Tai Tuivasa rooting for Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. “Chaos” responds to the Aussies for trashing him in a recent interview.

Ahead of UFC 272, Alexander Volkanovski and Tai Tuivasa sat down together to preview the blockbuster PPV fight this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fans will witness one of the biggest grudge fights in the history of the promotion as former friends Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal take on each other this weekend.

“Hope Colby gets his head caved,” said Tuivasa ahead of the huge fight. When asked why he doesn’t like “Chaos”, Tuivasa said he wasn’t a fan of “rats.” The featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski too is hoping for the “Gamebred” Masvidal to knockout Colby. “A good flying knee to stiffen Colby like a board would be good to see,” said Volkanovski. Covington was clearly not impressed with the predictions and he replied in “Chaos” style.

After watching the two Australian fighters hope for the worst, Covington gave his immediate response. “Two irrelevant fighters trying to go at one of the biggest names in the sport right now,” said Covington. “You know, their fighting doesn’t speak and get attention in the MMA world so, of course, they are going to use my name to try and get some headlines.”

Covington and Tuivasa have also previously had an ugly interaction with each other. Tai was caught throwing a boomerang at the American in a hotel lobby when the two met with an altercation.

Covington is coming off a well-fought loss against welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 and so is his former friend Jorge Masvidal. The two fighters are ready to settle their long-time beef inside the octagon in five or fewer rounds. Colby is doing everything in his power to make this fight one of the biggest blockbusters with his press conferences and so far “Chaos” has been doing very well.
