Valentina Shevchenko has an elder sister named Antonina Shevchenko. She was born on November 20, 1984, in the Soviet Union, modern-day Kyrgyzstan. Antonina is three and a half years older than Valentina.

She started training in martial arts at a young age and inspired Valentina to follow in her and their mother’s footsteps. The sisters started training under Pavel Fedotov and joined him on his journey to Peru. Valentina and Antonina became martial arts teachers in Peru and became fluent in many languages.
