UFC Vegas 15: Norma Dumont def Ashlee Evans Smith by UD

In the women’s bantamweight contest of the UFC Vegas 15’s main card, Norma Dumont (0-1) and Ashlee Evans-Smith (3-4) goes one on one inside the Octagon. Norma’s UFC debut ended up in a loss and she will look forward to turning things around in this match. Ashlee will try to add one more win in her column.
Round 1: The round started with Smith throwing some occasional kicks to check Dumont out, followed by some short punches. Both the fighters are looking cautious trying to find their pace, Dumont lands a left kick that struck. She again landed a combo followed by a fury of punches.
The right hand landed hard on Evans. After taking quite a beating she finally connects one straight right. They locked up against the cage and Dumont scores a takedown. The round ends.
Round 2: In the starting, to the second round Evans tried to score an early takedown but Dumont rolls with it and came in side control. She is trying to transit into top mount but Evans is holding her thigh. They both scrambled for a minute and the referee asked them to stand up.
Dumont lands a heavy left hand and four-punch combo as the round came close to the very end. The horn sounds and Dumont extends her lead of the first round.

Round 3: Dumont looks too hot to handle for Evans in this fight. In the third round Ashley- Evans knew that she needs to pick the pace. But Dumont is looking absolutely flawless today she is answering her every strike. Every time Evans tries to throw something she is getting even more in return.
This round is more active than the first two, Smith struck a solid counter combo of her own. Big blow and Dumont drops down Smith and Dumont continues to land strikes on her. Saved by the bell it’s up to the judges now.
Result: Norma Dumont def. Ashlee Evans-Smith via unanimous decision (30-26,30-26,30-26)
