UFC Vegas 22: Adrian Yanez knocks Gustavo Lopez in round number three

The Bantamweight contest between Gustavo Lopez (12-5 MMA, 1-1 UFC), and Adrian Yanez (12-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) just went down at UFC Vegas 22, it was a wonderful fight but Adrian Yanez snatched the victory via knock-out.

Round 1: The fight started and both the fighters were a little hesitant to engage, but Lopez started finding his range, and he was popping Yanez with some nice combos. Yanez was trying to get in the striking rhythm but he couldn’t get it, Yanez started closing in the distance and then landed some excellent combos at the end of the round and finished the round strong.

Round 2: Yanez is looking good and he is landing some nice and clean shots, Lopez is landing some punches too but he respects the power coming from the other hand and is somewhat hesitant to close the distance, and as soon as he drops in Yanez drops him down with a wonderful right hand, and won the round.

Round 3: Lopez’s corner asked him to go all out in round number three, as he was losing the fight on the score cards, but as soon as he started closing the distance Yanez knocked him out with a perfectly placed right hand, and won the fight.

Result: Adrian Yanez def. Gustavo Lopez via knockout (punch) – Round 3, 0:27
