The UFC officials finally announced that the women’s matchup between Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez will serve as the main event of UFC Vegas 26’s fight card. This fight was initially reported to be in work following the postponement of Cory Sandhagen vs T.J. Dillashaw fight.
Still, UFC hasn’t released the fight card for this fight until now because Waterson was facing some issues to reach Las Vegas. But she finally reached there and this fight will serve as the five-round main event for UFC Vegas 26 fight card now.
Michelle Waterson is coming in this fight with a split decision victory against Angela Hill in September on UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs Hill. She is ranked at number 9th in the UFC women’s strawweight division and in her last fight she won the fight of the night bonus too.
Marina Rodriguez is coming into this fight with a second-round TKO victory against Amanda Ribas in January on UFC 257. She also won the performance of the night bonus in her last fight and currently, she is ranked number 6th in the women’s strawweight division rankings.
Alex Morono vs Donald Cerrone will serve as the co-main event at UFC Vegas 26
The UFC veteran Donald Cerrone will meet Alex Morono in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 26. This fight was originally scheduled between Deigo Sanchez and Donald Cerrone but Sanchez was recently cut by UFC due to health issues.
Morono is coming as a short-notice replacement in this fight to face Cowboy probably in his last UFC fight. He is coming in this fight with a loss against Anthony Pettis on UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs Neal and Cerrone is coming in this fight with a draw against Niko Price.
