The Welterweight contest of UFC Vegas 38’s fight card features the fight between the UFC veteran, Alex Oliveira facing Niko Price. Oliveira steps into this fight with two losses on his back with his latest loss coming against Randy Brown at UFC 261.

Price won only one out of his last five UFC fights and this win came against James Vick on UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs Waterson. He steps into this fight at UFC Vegas 38 with a loss against Michael Pereira in his last fight at UFC 264.

Round 1: Oliveira steps inside the Octagon after wiping a lot of tears from his eyes and leg kicks traded between both as soon as the fight starts. Price shoves Oliveira against the fence and keeps the momentum rolling throughout the round. Oliveira tries to change his position into half guard and the round ends with Price being on top.

Round 2: Oliveira faints a lot of shots in the start and missed most of them. He finally lands a hook and Price tries to land a head kick. Oliveira catches it and dragged him to the ground, Price tries to move into submission but Oliveira avoids it and keeps the pressure high throughout the round. Price intends to stay active on his back but Oliveira ends the round on the top.

Round 3: Oliveira lands a good combination to start the round and Price answers him with a combination of her own. Oliveira appeared to be slowing and Price picked up the pace. Price knocks Oliveira with a punch of his own. Both of them swung towards the fence and Price shoves Oliveira into the canvas. He ends the fight on the top.
