Bobby Green is a UFC veteran who has been around the promotion since 2013. In this period, he has fought many top-tier fighters and managed to beat many of them.
With a record of 29-12-1, he has experience of 42 professional MMA fighters. However, one such area where he lacks experience is fighting for five rounds. Interestingly Bobby green has not fought a single fight for five rounds in his entire 9 years of UFC career. The last time he fought in a five-round fight was back in 2011.
Hence, it would be interesting to see how he improvises his cardio or uses his energy efficiently to last five rounds against a fighter who loves to tire out his opponents early in the fight.
Green is going to fight Islam Makhachev Saturday night at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada. Makhachev is looking at Green as a ticket to his title shot. So, he would like to finish the fight early. Makhachev even revealed his plan of finishing Green in the first round. But, only time will tell if he can do that.
Bobby Green believes Islam Makhachev won’t last five rounds against him
Recently, Bobby Green had a chat with Megan Olivi from ESPN MMA ahead of his main event at UFC Vegas 49. Megan asked Green about his thoughts if the fight against Makhachev will go all five rounds.
Green responded saying: “I don’t know why but I just feel like I don’t think he is gonna make it. I think he is going to start getting hit and he hasn’t been hit like I am going to hit him and nobody thinks it’s hard. But, every person you look at when they come out fight with me they are busted up. I know it crossed their mind that I wanted to get out of here. This is a five-rounder you can’t get out of here now. He is going to get hit a whole bunch.”
Bobby believes that Islam won’t be able to last five rounds with him. According to him, his strikes are sharp enough to knock down the Dagestani. Moreover, of Bobby’s 29 wins, 10 have come via KO. Hence, it isn’t wrong of him to say he would finish Islam before five rounds. But, every time he has fought someone elite, he has fallen short. So, it would be exciting to see what the main event of UFC Vegas 49 unfolds for the fight fans.
