Twitter reacts to Thiago Santos vs Magomed Ankalaev at UFC Vegas 50
Magomed Ankalaev and Thiago Santos fought a chess match in the main event of UFC Vegas 50. The two light heavyweights wanted to get a win that could see them fighting for the title possibly next.
UFC Vegas 50 took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event saw two top light heavyweight fighters going at each other in hope of landing a title shot and the fans witnessed an intense battle between two technical fighters. Magomed Ankalaev got the win he wanted after five rounds of back-and-forth with his Brazilian opponent.
Ankalaev is currently sitting at the #6 spot and a win against #5 Thiago, tonight will see him climb up the rankings. Today’s win over Thiago makes it an eight-fight undefeated run for Magomed. The fighter has lost only once in the UFC and that was 4 years ago. UFC stars and fellow light heavyweights were up and watching the UFC Fight Night 203 main event fight and gave their reactions on Twitter.

Current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling was in absolute of awe of Magomed’s display of skills tonight at the UFC Apex. The fighter is very curious to check out the training that goes behind such performances. “
Gotta watch Ankalaev in the gym. He is a ANIMAL!” wrote Sterling.
Now that Ankalaev has put himself among the big guns of the light heavyweight division, Aleksandr Rakic, ranked at #4 could possibly be fighting the winner of this fight in a title contender fight. Rakic has already fought Santos in 2021 and won against him.
Jamahal Hill who just is coming off an ecstatic win was paying attention to this fight hoping he could get a matchup against the winner of this one. Hill is currently ranked at #10 according to the rankings. “I’m definitely locked in watching this one” wrote Hill.
