UFC Vegas 52: Marc Andre Barriault shockingly submits Jordan Wright in the first round of their catchweight contest

Jordan Wright (12-2-1) had a late change of opponent with Roman Kopylov pulling out. He is coming off a loss after getting knocked out by Bruno Silva back in December and he is motivated to bounce back. He got knocked out for the first time a year prior by Joaquin Buckley, but he bounced back by dishing out a knockout of his own on Jamie Pickett.
Marc Andre Barriault (13-5-1) steps up on short notice and is also hoping to bounce back from a knockout loss. He is gambling on a short-notice fight to get back in the win column.
Jordan Wright taps to Marc Andre Barriault’s guillotine

Round 1- Fighters touch gloves after commencement of the fight. Barriault is being the aggressor and putting on the pressure making Wright fight backward. Wright is having a calf kick-heavy approach to keep distance. Barriault catches him with a right hand. Jordan Wright was forced to clinch.

Both exchange in the clinch. Wright attempts an initial takedown and fails. Wright is successful in the second takedown. Wright scores a body lock takedown. Barriault gets back up and attempts a guillotine. He flips Wright over and Jordan Wright taps to the guillotine and Barriault wins his first victory via submission.
