Round 1: Dawson starts the exchange. Teep kicks for Dawson. Low kick for Gordon. Teep and low kicks for Gordon. Nice Slip by Gordon from Dawson’s kick. With a takedown by Gordon, the fight goes back to standing. Dawson goes for a takedown but nearly gets trapped in a guillotine choke. The fight comes back on its feet. Some exchanges and Dawson gets the takedown followed by back control.

Round 2: Dawson and Gordon get into a moderately wild exchange and the latter closes the distance, rushing himself into another fall for Dawson’s back control. But Gordon does the near-impossible and escapes the control to get the fight back to its feet. Dawson is constantly putting the pressure on cage side wrestling. Gordon tries to make distance and gets the fight on his feet. Gordon gets his moments while standing up and Dawson closes the distance to secure another successful takedown. Round 3: Gordon needs either a dominant round or a finish to get the fight in his favour. But here, Dawson flexes on his standup as well as he puts on a sequence of good shots. Gordon connects some legit short-range punches. But Dawson closes the distance. But Gordon gets out. A brief stoppage by the referee and Dawson goes for another takedown immediately as the fight continues. Gordon escapes. But Dawson eventually gets another takedown on another side of the cage.
Gordon escapes the ground game to keep the stand-up game on. Dawson is throwing good teep kicks. Dawson slips on one of his spinning strikes. Dawson goes for a takedown but Gordon is doing really good in defence. 90 seconds for the last round. Gordon gets his moment with ground and pound but Dawson makes unpredictable transitions to get the back control, some struggles and Dawson gets the rear-naked choke finish!
