UFC Vegas 54: Fight Card, When and Where to watch the high-stake Fight Night
UFC Vegas 54 will be headlined by Jan Blachowicz and Aleksander Rakic
UFC Vegas 54 will see the light heavyweights head back to the Apex in Las Vegas where they’ll duke it out to determine who will be next in line for the title shot, as number #1 ranked former Champion Jan Blachowicz takes on #3 ranked Aleksandar Rakic.
Rakic who is 4-1 in his last five, with his most recent victories coming over former title challengers, Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos will look to prove that the 30-year-old, former kickboxer truly deserves to challenge for the gold. To this measure, he will try to overcome his biggest challenge in the man that carries the “legendary polish power” Jan Blachowicz.
Despite having a short reign, Jan won his belt by knocking out heavy favorite Dominick Reyes in the second round of their title fight. Dom had recently gone all five rounds against Jon Jones and had fans divided over the ultimate outcome of the bout, so Jan knocking him out in brutal fashion was as loud a statement anyone could make as they take over the reins of the light heavyweight division.
With his lone title defense coming against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, in a fight that many counted him out of, Jan proved his durability and championship mentality when he definitively sealed his victory in the latter rounds.
