Sean Strickland believes he can fight without fully recovering himself if the UFC asks him to. Strickland just got his sixth consecutive win after defeating Jack Hermansson at UFCVegas 47. The fighter is currently possessing great momentum which could help him to get to the title shot in very less time.

What makes the possibility higher is that the current middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, is already on his way to beat all the top fighters in the division. In this scenario, Strickland could be the new title contender that fans would want to see in the future.

While answering the question, Strickland revealed that his fight negotiations generally take place while talking to Mick Maynard. The fighter is always ready to fight if the vice president of the UFC calls him and asks him to. The fighter explained that he could take some time off and let his body recover completely and start a new training camp for his next fight. But at the end of the day, he works for UFC and can fight anytime if the promotion calls him, they just have to pay him for that.

Mick Maynard is a solid dude. Sometimes that f***** guy would call me and he’s like Sean I need you and I’m like Mick Maynard you know what I f***** like you dude, let’s go. So if I would lay out and let my body heal and do a fresh camp. But you know I’m a company man, I will suck that D bro, you wanna f***** pay me I say yes,” said Strickland.

In the fight against Hermansson, it didn’t look like Strickland took much damage and was looking very good after the fight. He might not need much time to recover this time and knowing his character, hype, and winning streak UFC will not keep him away from the action for a long time.
