“Very soon brother”: Khabib Nurmagomedov predicts his inclusion in the UFC hall of fame
Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib Nurmagomedov is confident about him being a future UFC Hall of Famer. Currently, Nurmagomedov is busy in his role as a coach and is focused on Islam Makhachev’s next fight with Bobby Green. The former lightweight champion joined Makhachev four days ago at the American Kickboxing Academy. Now that the head coach is back at the training camp, Makhachev will be looking forward to continuing his domination at UFC Vegas 49.
Nurmagomedov announced his retirement at UFC 254 after defeating Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title fight. It was his third successful title defense and 29th consecutive win as a professional MMA fighter. In his twelve years as a professional fighter, Nurmagomedov remained undefeated and dominated every single opponent he faced inside the octagon. His unparalleled grappling skills and toughness were something that nobody could counter. When he retired he was 31 years old and was at the peak of his career.
With a record like that, it is evident that ‘The Eagle’ will go down as one of the greatest of all time and a future UFC Hall of Famer. But the question is when the Dagestani is going to get that achievement. However, Nurmagomedov has answered this question by himself. In a recent YouTube vlog on his official channel, Dagestani said. “Very soon brother,” while pointing towards the UFC Hall of Fame poster.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s comeback opportunity as a coach
The post-retirement life of Nurmagomedov has not been that idle. The former UFC superstar has been busy running his own MMA promotion as a full-time coach. Nurmagomedov has been coaching several fighters from his Dagestani crew and has always been involved in their careers.
His record as a coach was perfect until Islam Mamedov, one of his fighters lost his recent bout at Bellator 273. This was Nurmagomedov’s first loss as a coach and he will be looking to bounce back from it.
The next important fight for Nurmagomedov as a coach would be the main event bout between Makhachev and Bobby Green this Saturday. For Makhachev it is a very important fight as it would open his way for the lightweight title opportunity against Charles Oliveira.
