A heated online spat between American scientist Dr. Peter Hotez and Joe Rogan has ensued on the topic of vaccines. Rogan who has publicly criticized covid vaccines was called out by Hotez for his interview with RFK Jr. This led to an online spat between Hotez and many huge personalities on Twitter. UFC veteran Nik Lentz has also hoped the bandwagon against Dr Hotez calling him out on the recent feud.
Joe Rogan recently invited presidential candidate RFK Jr who is also the nephew of Former US president John F. Kennedy. RFK Jr. is an anti-vaccine activist who also pushes health-related conspiracy theories about Big Pharma. During their interview, the duo touched upon different topics like RFK’s past, his thoughts on vaccines and more. Dr. Peter Hotez an internationally-recognized physician-scientist in vaccine development called out Rogan for spreading vaccine misinformation.
Following the tweet Rogan invited Dr Hotez to have a debate with RFK Jr. where Rogan would act as the moderator. ” Peter, if you claim what RFK Jr. is saying is “misinformation” I am offering you $100,000.00 to the charity of your choice if you’re willing to debate him on my show with no time limit,” tweeted Rogan. Many huge figures like Elon Musk and a couple of fighters have hopped on the bandwagon to call out Dr Hotez.
Veteran UFC fighter Nik Lentz has also called out Dr Hotez through his latest tweet and urged him to show up for the debate. “ I am an expert in fighting. If some dork wanted to debate me about fighting on I would gladly accept and make him look like a dumbass. Laymen-talking conspiracies should easy to dismantle. But like most Covid crazy people the “expert” does not… cowards, ” tweeted Lentz. The recent backlash from Rogan’s callout has made things a bit difficult for Dr Hotez. He was even harassed outside his house after the Twitter spat.

American scientist and vaccine expert Dr Peter Hotez faced intense online attacks after calling out Joe Rogan. The whole event transpired due to an episode of ‘ The Joe Rogan Experience featuring presidential candidate, RFK Jr. The presidential candidate is an anti-vaccine activist and pushes big pharma conspiracy theories. During his appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, the duo talked about the same.
Hotez called out Rogan for spreading misinformation on vaccines and spreading false claims during the episode. Rogan upped the stakes and invited Dr Hotez to debate RFK Jr. with an offer to donate $100,000 to any of Hotez’s charities. This led to a Twitter spat where many anti-vaxxers and influential figures including Elon Musk piled up against Hotez. However, the online harassment made its way to the real world after Dr Hotez was harassed outside his Houston home.
During his interview with MSNBC, Hotez gave his thoughts on the recent harassment. ” You know, the attacks from the anti-vaccine lobby do come in waves. And this time, though, it’s been one of the tougher ones. Because, as you pointed out, the physical stalking and the incessant threatening emails, “ said Dr Hotez. After all the harassment Dr Hotez has made it clear that he has no intention of debating RFK Jr.
