“Wanna get your head stomped”- Marlon Vera and Sean O’Malley go back and forth on Twitter after UFC Vegas 48 main event opens up

Marlon Vera vs Sean O'Malley

Marlon Vera has been desperate to get back into the octagon for quite some time now. Sean O’Malley poking fun of Chito’s request wasn’t well-received by the veteran as he went off on the “Suga Show”.

Chito Vera has not fought in the octagon since his highlight reel KO win against former UFC champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 268. Marlon has been looking to be active in the year 2022 and has revealed that he would like to fight at least 3 times this year. In the quest of looking for fights, when the promotion announced that UFC Vegas 48 did not have a main event fight after Rafael Fiziev vs Rafael Dos Anjos was postponed, Vera was quick to raise his hands to fill in.

“@ufc needs new main event? Whatsssupppp holla at me” wrote Marlon in his tweets. Sean O’Malley, his former rival poked by fun by writing, “Of the prelims?” This is not the first time O’Malley has bragged about becoming a huge PPV star to another UFC veteran. He also tried to trash-talk Dominick Cruz for fighting in the prelims in the same card as him.

Chito and Sean previously met each other in the co-main event of UFC 252. Marlon has been the only fighter to stop O’Malley īn his career handing him his first professional loss. Vera TKO’d O’Malley in the first round after the Suga Show injured his foot and went to the ground.

“Oh trashy join the conversation you wanna get your head stomped on the ground again,” wrote Marlon in reply to O’Malley’s troll. Sean believes he is an undefeated fighter and does not think the loss against Marlon should actually count given his opponent won only because of his injury.

Both Sean and Chito have gone back and forth discussing a rematch for a long time but the UFC has not been close to making that happen. Sean has finally been ranked after a lot of successive wins in the promotion. Chito Vera is currently ranked at #8 and O’Malley sits in the #12 ranking. Vera has been asking for only top 5 ranked fighters for his next bout but he sure will make exemption if a matchup with Sean was offered.
