Adrian Yanez puts on a show at UFC Austin
UFC Austin’s main card starts with an electrifying bantamweight matchup between Adrian Yanez and Tony Kelley. The MMA promotion is traveling for Fight Night this time and goes to Austin to put on a fantastic show for the fans at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
UFC Austin is a stacked fight card from top to bottom. Veteran matchup Donald Cerrone vs Joe Lauzon being canceled at the last moment has turned out to the advantage of local boy Adrian Yanez who gets a bump up to the main card as he fights in front of a crowd in the UFC for the first time. The fight gets very interesting because there is already a lot of tension between the two fighters. Tony and Yanez had a very fiery face-off ahead of the bout.
Tony heads into the fight weighing over the desired weight limitations. Yanez is currently on a three-fight winning streak and has fought all his bouts in the UFC Apex. Round 1: Both the fighters take the center. Tony rushes to knee the rival but Adrian trips him and looks very promising. Yanez is very calm with his approach and is not rushing his shots. Yanez with a block and overhand left. Tony working in southpaw to prevent Yanez from hitting him with deadly body shots. Yanez continues with huge body shots. Kelley is wobbling but he continues to swing back. Yanez with a big right hook. Adrian continues to throw huge counters to Tony’s kicks.
Kelley is barely on his feet. Yanez throws another huge blow to the face of Kelley as he trembles to the floor. What a performance from Yanez. This is the first time the fighter fights in front of a crowd and boy did he put on a performance. Yanez was not on the main card initially. The Texas local made the best of his opportunity and put the entire division on notice. Yanez is now 16-3-0 in his professional career and will surely look to fight someone in the top 10 ranks.
