Islam Makhachev who ‘respectfully’ destroyed Bobby Green at the latest UFC fight night, which was a treat for sore eyes wanting to see Islam fight. Everyone more or less knew that Bobby had slim to none chance of beating Islam, yet did pose a threat, according to the head coach Javier Mendez at AKA.
Javier Mendez said that he had no doubts about Islam being championship material but still wanted to leave no stones unturned. He advised Islam accordingly, “He has a bigger chance in the stand-up but to be honest with you I know you can outstrike him but whyyy do we want to do that? We don’t want to do that? The great warriors do the easy path, right? Make it easy, make it exciting. That’s who you are and that’s what you’re gonna do”

The AKA Head coach Javier Mendez and Khabib strategized the game plan for Green and Islam just made it look way too easy. Mendez and Khabib instructed Makhachev to go for the head kick to open with, which would make Green concerned about his ‘Hand positioning‘ and would get his guard up rather than his hands being free, which in turn creates an opportunity for resisting a takedown.
The same thing was executed which opened up the lower body of Bobby and left it exposed, susceptible to a takedown. Everyone in the fight game knows that when the Dagestani fighters get their takedown, It is all over.
