Chidi Njokuani had a bunch of amateur fights, and 28 professional fights, he earned his UFC contract after an impressive win on Dana White’s Contender Series, and “Chidi Bang Bang” proved his worth. He closed the distance as soon as the fight started, and connected with a perfect 1-2, the follow-up punches were too much, and Herb Dean had to step in and stop the fight. This was the second-fastest finish by a UFC athlete in their debut fight and the third-fastest finish in middleweight history.

Barriault had more experience coming in this fight, he was on a two-fight win streak, and after this skid, he is now 2-4 in the UFC. He was finished for the first time in his career, and he was very disappointed in himself, he certainly worked really hard for this fight, and not being able to showcase his full arsenal was very frustrating for him.

Chidi on the other hand was very much satisfied with his victory and made his presence known with his post-fight interview as well. Talking to former UFC champion, and commentator, Michael Bisping, he said, “I’m coming for the top. I’m trying to take that belt, you feel me?”
