UFC Welterweight Colby Covington had the last laugh off his rivalry against former best friend and teammate at Covington’s former training centre, Jorge Masvidal. Covington and Masvidal, as they saw in each other when they met for the first time, were opposites attract, and there on went to be one each other’s side in each other’s fights to support each other.

It was in 2019 onwards when things took a turnover and Masvidal claimed Covington never paid the coaches Masvidal personally introduced to, such as Masvidal’s striking coach Paulino Hernandez. Masvidal and Covington then had a series of back and forth via many interviews and tweets that were getting nastier each day. Both the fighters finally got to face each other at UFC 272 and Covington dominated Masvidal with his pressure through wrestling from start to finish.

In a post-fight interview with UFC Correspondent Laura Sanko, Covington talked about how badly he wants to fight his next former teammate in Dustin Poirier, the former interim UFC lightweight champion as they both have bad blood towards each other as well.

Watch this clip below to see how eagerly Covington wishes to fight Poirier inside the Octagon and makes an analogy with his trolling of Poirier’s wife Jolie Poirier, and Sanko immediately breaks off a little, controls her laugh and then breaks off again properly smiling while Covington makes that perfect troll smile.

What do you make of Covington’s executing the disrespectful punchline towards Poirier’s wife and Sanko’s reaction? Do you think perhaps fighters should follow man-code and not get in trashing their potential or present opponent’s wives and kids or you don’t really care? Also, who do you think is next for “Chaos” Colby Covington? If the Poirier fight happens, who do you think wins?
