UFC Welterweight Gilbert Burns is all strapped in his preparation to stop the hype train fellow welterweight and huge prospect Khamzat Chimaev is bringing on with him as both the fierce fighters meet inside the Octagon in the fight before the co-main event of UFC 273. UFC 273 takes place on April 9, 2022, in VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville, Florida, the USA. The main event sees the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski looking forward to defending his title for the third time against the veteran Chan Sung Jung aka The Korean Zombie.
Chimaev was long awaiting a fight that would get him to the top of the weight class as quickly as possible because he knows his potential has no bounds. Many people believe that Chimaev can be not only one but two-division champion in the UFC if he continues to run over the opponents the way he has shown in the past. Many people like the likes of Belal Muhammad, Neil Magny and Geoff Neal called Chimaev out multiple times but weren’t enough to satiate the latter’s competitive interest, that’s when Burns entered the scene.

He was even ready to fill up for any late replacements if happened due to uncalled reasons in any of the fight cards till the end of 2021. At one point in time, Burns was even ready to fill up a vacant position for a middleweight fighter.
And finally, Burns got what he needed, a fighter, not just any other expected, top-ranked opponent, but someone uncertain who would excite him in Khamzat Chimaev and since the booking, Burns has been hitting bags and mats like an unstoppable machine in order to be the first bitter learning experience for the Swedish prodigy Chimaev.
