Israel Adesanya at UFC 271 press conference
Israel Adesanya never fails to dissapoint us with his press conference antics. The middleweight champion plays his mind games with arch-rival Robert Whittaker at the UFC 271 pre-fight press conference.
Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker face each other in a much-anticipated rematch in the main event of UFC 271. The two superstars will light up the Toyota Center Arena in Houston, Texas, this weekend on February 12th. This is one of the most anticipated rematches in the UFC.
Adesanya came with his A game to the press conference trying his best to get the better of Whittaker in the verbal warfare. The fighter came out to the press conference wearing the NFT chain that the UFC have introduced very recently. The chain has an NFT that plays a clip of a significant moment in the fighter’s career. For Adesanya, the clip showed Adesanya knocking out “The Reaper” at UFC 243 in their first meeting.

“Its on replay,” says Israel Adesanya as he takes a dig at his opponent
“Oh yeah this is a moment from the UFC NFT strike collection,” said Adesanya addressing the reporter. Tai Tuivasa who is also in the same card interrupted saying he would like to have one too. “Yeah I mean you got to talk to the company, talk to the big boss. This is a moment that’s from the UFC 243 when I took out Rob Whittaker. It shows the moment over and over and over again. But this weekend I am looking to create another moment so yeah this is fun.“
The reporter also wanted to make sure that the crowd got a response from Whittaker to see how he feels about Izzy flexing that chain. “Umm he beat me the first time. He’s got bragging rights. What do I do? If I won the first time I would be wearing it around as well. It’s a cool necklace,” said the ever nice Whittaker.
Adesanya knocked out Whittaker at UFC 243 in the second round to unifiy the middleweight belt. Since that defeat in 2019, Whittaker has managed to go undefeated and finally work his way to a rematch against Adesanya.
