Kamaru Usman wins knockout of the year for 2021
The welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is more than delighted to have received the award for Knockout of The Year 2021. The Nigerian Nightmare shows off his trophy in a recent video on his social media.
There isn’t a fighter in MMA that can say he had a better year than the UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in 2021. The fighter has raised standards to a different level and showed the world the kind of monster he is inside of that octagon, last year. After a glorious year, Usman is awarded the Knockout Of The Year and Fighter of The Year for 2021.
Kamaru had a total of three title defenses in the year 2021 and his bout against Jorge Masvidal is undoubtedly the best outing of the champ. At UFC 261, Usman decided to present “Gamebred” Masvidal with a second opportunity to win the belt from Usman. Usman showed the world that he is the best by knocking out Masvidal in front of the Florida crowd. Kamaru won the trophy for this fight and rightfully so.

“Yo, it came in. ‘Knockout of the year 2021’ and ‘UFC fighter of the year’, you know I am,” said Kamaru in his recent Twitter video. “2021 Fighter of the Year, pound-for-pound best welterweight champion of the world. Guys I just wanna say thank you. Thank you to the UFC, thank you, Dana White, Sean Shelby, Mick Maynard, Hunter. You know you guys put together a great company that gives me the chance to exercise the gift that God gave me.”
Kamaru beat three top title contenders in the year 2021. His first title defense of last year came against his former teammate, Gilbert Burns at UFC 258. Then his famous knockout-winning fight against Masvidal was followed by a PPV blockbuster fight against his intense rival Colby Covington at UFC 268. Usman is on his path to becoming the greatest welterweight fighter of all time.
Usman is undefeated in the UFC and has a record of 20-1 in his professional MMA career. After becoming the champion in the year 2019, Usman already has five title defenses to his name which is an amazing accomplishment.
