Makhachev was supposed to fight #3 ranked Beneil Dariush, who was himself on a 7-fight winning streak, but an injury made Dariush pull out of the fight.
Now Makhachev is in some assurance by the way of his performance in the last few years and his rankings that if a win against Green adds up to his record, he might be facing the winner of UFC 274’s main-event involving the champion Charles Oliveira defending his title for the second time against #2 Justin Gaethje.
