Alex Pereira has become one of the biggest UFC superstars in history because of his fierce rivalry with Israel Adesanya. Both the fighters have continued their rivalry from Glory kickboxing to UFC and are still thinking about fighting again.
Pereira is a lethal striker and has a demeanor of a stone-cold killer however, the fighter is extremely hilarious in his social media posts. He is known for his trolls against Israel Adesanya during their fight and many more. One of the most viral videos of Pereira was when his son asks him for money and the fighter hilariously negotiates with him and gets the amount extremely low skillfully.
In the video, Alex Pereira‘s son can be heard asking him for money: “Hey dad, give me 50 reais.” ‘Poatan’ responds by giving him only a fifth of the amount: “40 reais? Why do you want 30 reais if 20 [reais] is enough? Here, have 10 [reais].“
It was comedic gold given that Pereira earns millions from his UFC fights but is a bit of a cheap steak when it comes to his son’s pocket money. It seems like the Brazilian is trying his best to teach his son the value of money which his father earned by literal blood and sweat.
Alex Pereira’s son’s history with Israel Adesanya
Alex Pereira’s son came into the limelight after UFC 287 when Israel Adesanya mocked the kid after dropping his father in the second round. Adesanya then cleared the whole thing in his interview when he mentioned that Pereira’s son once mocked him when he knocked out Israel Adesanya in a kickboxing bout.
According to Izzy, it was very disrespectful and the Brazilian should have disciplined his son instead of promoting that kind of behavior.
“He’s only a kid.’ And I’m like, and the f… what? If I had a son, and he came to the cage after 287 and then started to do that next to Pereira, I’d be like, ‘What the f… are you doing? Hey, come here. Apologize.“
“Bro, the guy knocked me out in his home country, and it’s my first-ever time being put out cold, and then you see your kid doing that and you don’t have the discipline to scold him? I did that kid a favor. Now he has a life lesson that he can hold onto forever and just remember that,” said Adesanya on his YouTube channel.
Many thought after this the relationship between Alex Pereira and Adesanya will get worse however, both the fighters made peace and are cool with it.
