WATCH! New footage documents Jorge Masvidal being held away from Colby Covington by his entourage during a restaurant brawl
Colby Covington- Jorge Masvidal
UFC Megastar Jorge Masvidal and UFC Welterweight Colby Covington couldn’t have been done with their fight at UFC 272, that they now needed to keep it going outside of the octagon as well. Masvidal and Covington have been recently reported to have faced each other in what seems to be a near physical altercation between the two outside Papi Steak restaurant in Miami, Florida.
Masvidal and Covington started off being best friends who used to train together at American Top Team (ATT) and were cornering each other’s fights. This initially seemingly unbreakable relationship went on for 8 straight years until reports of them beefing inside the training gym started doing reports and both were once expelled from ATT one time, after which Covington left and Masvidal came back to the famously acclaimed training center for current and former UFC champions.
Jorge Masvidal tries to get a hold of Colby Covington, the latter surrounded by police for protection afterwards
Masvidal and Covington both aimed at settling their scores by fighting each other at UFC 272, which Covington won via unanimous decision. Masvidal had no answers to Covington’s pace and wrestling pressure, but Masvidal decided to not let that slide away, on the streets. TMZ Sports recently found out some footage of an altercation between Masvidal and Covington.
Masvidal is initially seen trying to get a hold of Covington but seems to have been held by some people right in front of the main door of Papi Steak Restaurant, into which Covington slides himself to avoid any more interaction with his bitter rival. Later on Covington is suddenly seen surrounded by some people from the law enforcement as Covington talks to someone about the incident in a rather shocked manner.
What do you make of Masvidal trying to buy Covington into a street fight? Do you think it was normal for two bitter rivals to settle scores outside the octagon for once? Or do you think it was unnecessary now from Masvidal’s side? Who do you think would’ve got the edge in a chaos of street fighting? Also, do you expect these 2 to meet inside the octagon in a rematch in their respective careers ahead?
