Watch: Nick Diaz makes the crowd go crazy as he lies down inside the octagon against Anderson Silva
Nick Diaz sleeping in octagon
After his return at UFC 266, it is only right to remind the younger folks about how much of a legend Nick Diaz was inside the octagon.
At UFC 183, Nick Diaz moved up a weight class and fought the greatest middleweight fighter of all time, Anderson Silva. While the fighters in the middleweight division feared to stand up with Anderson inside the octagon, came along the Diaz brother. Nick hadn’t fought inside the octagon for almost two years since his loss against Georges St Pierre at UFC 158. In 2015, Nick agreed to the super fight with Silva.
There was no one quite like the Diaz brother. His nonchalant attitude inside the octagon and his lazy yet effective striking are what make Nick one of the most entertaining fighters to ever grace the octagon. The fight at UFC 183 is famously known for Diaz absolutely going berserk inside the octagon as he taunts Silva in their fight.
What went down at UFC 183: Nick Diaz vs Anderson Silva?
Nick and Anderson went the full five rounds and put on a show for the fans present in the arena. Silva threw everything in his arsenal at the Stockton fighter but Nick kept coming at Anderson like he was a zombie. Countless strikes hit Nick, but the legend kept coming forward and out the pressure on Anderson Silva at UFC 183.
Though Silva won the fight via decision, Diaz clearly won the fans with his “lying down” and asking Silva to come at him during the rounds. The taunting definitely didn’t faze the former middleweight champion but Nick surely showed a personality they had rarely seen inside the octagon. This was the last fight of Diaz before his ban.
