WATCH: UFC lightweight shares footage of Kamaru Usman and Ali Abdelaziz trashing heckler at a fight event
Kamaru Usman and Ali Abdelaziz go to town on a heckler at PFL event
No one wishes to be in a fight at an event. Imagine getting into a fight with the pound-for-pound champion Kamaru Usman and his manager Ali Abdelaziz. Matt Frevola, a UFC lightweight, to celebrate hitting two thousand followers on his Twitter account decided to share footage of him trying to stop Usman and Abdelaziz from “murdering” a fan.
Ali Abdelaziz is very close with his fighters and is known to go to unbelievable extents to protect them. Even if it means he has to throw hands when the welterweight king Kamaru Usman is heckled. Matt Frevola, the UFC lightweight decided to drop the footage of the Dominance MMA duo wrecking hecklers who spoke trash to them at a fight event.
“Damn we hit 2k. Here’s a vid from the vault of me trying to keep the champ & Ali from murdering some hecklers at a UFC event back in the day,” wrote Matt Frevola in his recent tweet. The fighter later clarified that it was a PFL event that was held at Madison Square Garden in New York. This brawl took place in 2018 when Usman and Abdelaziz were present in the audience. Matt and a few other officials tried their best to prevent Ali and the welterweight champion from hurting people badly. Despite all the protection, Ali and Kamaru landed some mean shots at the heckler which can be seen in the tweet below:
What Kamaru Usman has to say about the PFL brawl
After this brawl broke out in 2018, Kamaru made an appearance on the MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani to clarify some things about this infamous incident. Ali Abdelaziz is not new to brawls at events and fights in public as the manager is known to throw hands and break fights when things hit the fan. Usman, however, explained his stance on what actually went down at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Kamaru explains that a drunk heckler kept coming up to the fighter’s face talking trash despite Usman giving him several warnings. At one point, Usman’s privacy was breached, and the welterweight champ felt that he was going to be attacked. This led to Kamaru pushing the heckler. “I turn around for us to leave and all of a sudden while my back is turned, I get hit in the back. Boom. It’s like three of them jump on Ali and then three of them jump on me,” said Usman talking to Ariel Helwani.
“I’m trying to draw one guy off me and it’s all just a crazy commotion, guys are trying to jump on and the whole time, I couldn’t believe the situation was happening.”
