Former UFC middleweight fighter Darren Till was one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster. Once expected to fight for the Middleweight championship, Till had great potential but failed to deliver it. The Scouser was frequently on news due to his eccentric personality and in one instance it was a little personal.

During his last UFC fight with Dricus Du Plessis, UFC fans noticed Till had a new tattoo of a ‘Gorilla’ on his left arm. Fans anticipated that the fighter was trying to cover the old tattoo of her girlfriend which was at the same spot earlier.

In an old interview, Till was asked the same question when fans assumed that he had a tattoo of UFC fighter Paige VanZant on his arm. Till confirmed that it was instead his girlfriend and he got the tattoo to feel closer to her.

He said: “It’s my girl. It was a surprise for her on her birthday. I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to do something different. I’m going to get a tattoo of her face’. It’s not Paige VanZant, I don’t even know who that is. As I’ve told you about my girl, she’s next to none other. So every time I fight, she fights too. And she gets beat up with me – so if she’s p***ing me off, I just go to the gym and let some guys punch me.”

The tattoo cover-up also started rumors about Till leaving his partner, with whom he has two kids due to some disturbance in the relationship. After that, the Brit never made any statement however, his covering of that tattoo was clearly an affirmative sign for the fans to speculate.

Till’s last few fights in the UFC weren’t that good as he struggled a lot to win and make any impact.  It got to a point where the fighter voluntarily asked the UFC to take his name off the roster.

Many fans believed that it was the end of Till as a UFC fighter however, the Brit has some other plans. In an interview with Neue Online Casinos, Till confirmed that he has plans to come back to UFC in a few years and start his campaign again for the middleweight championship.

100 percent I want the Middleweight belt. My aspirations haven’t changed in that sense. Money comes and money goes, but I’ve still got that mindset that I’m only 30. Most of the UFC champions are 34 or 35 — so I know I can do it. I just need to be directed in the right way and make sure my body is fit and healthy and my mind is too.

Till is a UFC superstar who can generate attention and the promotion would like to have him back. However, a two years gap will certainly is a big risk to take for a fighter.
