“Who needs two eyes” – Bryan Battle takes a dig at Michael Bisping’s fake eye in his interview
Bryan Battle(L), being interviewed by Michael Bisping(R)
Bryan Battle came out on top against Tresean Gore at last night’s UFC Fight Night’s main card event headlined by Hermansson vs. Strickland with all three judges scoring the winner with favor of 29-28.
This fight was a very heated one between the two MMA artists who were originally supposed to face each other at The Ultimate Fighter 29 finale. However, Gore had to withdraw from the fight due to injury which led to Battle facing Gilbert Urbina who he beat by submission inside the second round which led to him being crowned champion. He even made sure to bring his TUF trophy to remind everyone who was the better middleweight fighter.
“Pooh Bear” even replied, “You know I said a lot going into this fight. I really won the competition. But this is for all the people out there. All the people who f***ing said that I wasn’t the champion. All the people who said Tresean was gonna knock the fuck out of me.”
Battle did not walk away unscathed as Gore did cause some pretty heavy damage including landing a big shot which led to his right eye being completely shut.
In his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, he was asked if the eye proved a problem to which he replied, “Man, who need two eyes?” The former middleweight champion seemed to like the reference and replied, “Tell me about it!“
Bryan Battle takes the win against rival Tresean Gore in an epic fight
Bryan Battle proved why he deserved to be named TUF 29 champion after he deservedly beat Tresean Gore in an epic fight at UFC Vegas 47.
Gore could have taken his opportunity when he hurt Battle with a brutal punch that shut his right eye completely. But Battle though a bit handicapped managed to go full force and keep Gore in the back foot at almost the entirety of the fight and with his pace, he wasn’t able to connect really well with his shots and earned the judge’s favor for a unanimous decision win.
The pair were earlier set to face at the finale of TUF 29 but Gore had to back out from an injury and it ended with Battle as the new champion after he beat Urbina by submission.
This fight had a lot of heat with both fighters arguing right after the first round and had to be separated before being sent back to their respective corners by the referee.
Nonetheless, the fight had all the action with one fighter bitter over in his inability to take revenge while another proud to prove his status as TUF champion.
