“You think I’m a threat”- Israel Adesanya offers some insight into Jon Jones scrap

Both Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones are big names in the world of MMA with a massive fan following. But the relationship between these two has not been the best. 

The duo has been involved in several Twitter feuds and never loses an opportunity to throw shade on each other. Jones has been very open about not liking Israel Adesanya and has tweeted several things against him. On the other hand, Izzy always finds a way to troll Jones regarding his issues with the law and arrests. 

For UFC, Jones vs Adesanya is a dream match-up and has been mentioned several times. Among the fight fans too, the hype of this hypothetical fight is massive. 

Israel Adesanya on fighting Jon Jones in future

Israel Adesanya recently did an interview with TMZ Sports where he talked about his upcoming fights, legacy, and future ambitions. During the conversation, the current UFC middleweight champion revealed that he is up for the Jon Jones fight. 

Adesanya first cleared the fact that Jones was the first one to call him out for a fight in one interview. According to Izzy, Jones is considered as one of the GOATs but reacting and showing interest to beat Izzy sends a different message. Adesanya explained that Jones’ behavior towards Izzy is because he considers him a threat to his legacy. Adesanya continued that he moved up a class as he promised but Jones has been telling it for a long time. But haven’t made his heavyweight debut yet.

“He was the one who started it..he put my name in his mouth first. so I’m like Woah, You’re supposed to be the GOAT and you wanna fight me. That shows me you think I’m a threat…I said I’m gonna move up a weight, I did it the next year. He said it like since 2013..this is martial arts If you’re the best to prove you’re the best,” said Izzy. 

If the fight between Jones and Izzy ever happens it would be humongous and the fans would go crazy for it. Other than being a huge success financially, stylistically it would be a great match-up. Both Jones and Adesanya are considered some of the greatest strikers in the history of the promotion. The fight will be the showdown of fighting legends.
