Khabib Nurmagomedov is considered one of the most disciplined and principled fighters in the MMA world. His respect for the sport and people generally remained consistent throughout the years. An old video of an interview with “The Eagle” recently went viral on social media, proving Khabib’s respectful nature.

The Russian fighter dominated the UFC in the lightweight division year after year until his retirement in 2020. He is considered to be one of the greatest fighters of all time after retiring with a perfect record in the octagon (29-0). The title is also bestowed upon him by many fans due to his character and goodwill. Many young MMA prospects admire Khabib’s humility and gratitude toward life and its teachings. Nurmagomedov has always owed his success to his Father and God, no matter how famous or rich he got over time.

A Twitter user tweet tweeted an old video of an interview with a young Khabib Nurmagomedov. The discussion looked to sway Khabib’s principles with a rather inappropriate question, considering how religious Khabib remains. The man asked, “This is a rather provocative question.” The interviewer asked Nurmagomedov whether he liked Arianny or Brittney more as a ring girl in the UFC. Khabib is a class act as always and responded, “They are both not bad, but let’s not discuss someone else’s women.“

Many new fighters should learn such classy behavior from one of the greatest to enter the octagon. Khabib Nurmagomedov is kind but not a pushover, as many have seen in his beef against Conor McGregor a few years back. Such a balance seems necessary to earn respect amongst fighters.

Many fans worldwide fell in love with Khabib Nurmagomedov after his successful fighting career in the UFC. This love even grew to compare the “eagle” to boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Such a comparison would be a dream come true for most fighters aspiring to build a long-lasting legacy like Khabib did. Nevertheless, the Russian champion had a different reaction to such comparisons.

Khabib was asked what he thought about people comparing him with Muhammad Ali in an interview. The former UFC champ responded, “This comparison is wrong.” Khabib Nurmagomedov further explained that the only similarities between the fighters are that they both are champions and Muslims. He says, “When it comes to what he has done outside the ring, I cannot be compared.” Khabib seems to respect significantly Muhammad Ali’s efforts as an activist in the real world.

He specified his admiration for Ali for doing what he did even though he faced severe scrutiny for challenging racial inequality in the US then. Khabib is one of the few successful people to value modesty. Unlike many other celebrities, Khabib chose to stay grounded and keep his priorities in check. This serves as an inspiration to many people worldwide.
