UFC Vegas 14: Jose Alberto Quinonez vs Louis Smolka has been pulled off the card
Jose Alberto Quinonez vs Louis Alberto gets scrapped off UFC Vegas 14’s main card

There seems to be no break at UFC Vegas 14. After losing Islam Mackadev and Eryk Andrews during this UFC Vegas event earlier, it is being known that Jose Alberto Quinonez vs Louis Smolka has been pulled off the card. The reason has not been clearly stated but it is rumored to be Smolka’s weight issues which resulted in the fight being cancelled hours before the start of the main card of UFC Vegas 14.

The event is expected to be headlined by a lightweight bout between former champion Rafael dos Anjos and short-notice replacement Paul Felder. There are now only nine fights left on the lineup, hopefully that will be scheduled as per the plan.

Jose Quinonez confirmed the news via his social media and wrote that his plan in to remain in Las Vegas, in the hopes that the fight could be rebooked next week. “For health reasons my opponent is out of the fight, we still do not know if the doctors will let him fight for next week,” he stated, “so I am staying in Vegas to wait for him or I will notify you of new news. Thanks for all your support.”

Louis Smolka weight issues cancels the fight?

As the UFC Vegas 14 suffers another blow, as Smolka vs Quinonez gets cancelled. Unfortunately, “The Last Samurai” Louis Smolka was taken off the card due to weight cutting/health complications. Set to face Jose Alberto, Smolka was on his second run in the UFC. In his first, he piled up four losses after a strong start to his run. Resulting in the UFC deciding the best course of action was to release him from his contract. It is too late to replace the fight on the card.

As the news is now confirmed let’s hope that all other fights happen in the pre-planned manner.
