The list of players unhappy with ATP and WTA’s scheduling continues to grow daily. From Carlos Alcaraz to Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, the voice of unhappiness rings loud in tennis. French star Ugo Humbert has added his voice to growing discontent about the tennis schedule.

Humbert has had one of the best seasons of his career this year. The Frenchman started pretty well, winning his first title in Marseille before following it up with the Dubai Open in March, where notably he defeated Daniil Medvedev. The 26-year-old, however, struggled in the middle of the season and failed to reach any final.

Umbert reached his third final of the year at the Tokyo Open, where he lost to Arthur Fils. The World No. 16 already has a record of 33-22 win-loss record this year. The tight tennis scheduling, however, has been a huge problem to the Frenchman’s consistency.

He revealed in a recent interview, that the scheduling doesn’t work for any player on the ATP Tour. Umbert stated that it was only benefitting the tennis bodies because of the money it makes each year.

They never agree with the players. I think the biggest nonsense right now is that the Masters 1000 are now scheduled to be played in two weeks. It’s exhausting. And they tell us that we earn more money, but it’s not true, we have double the expenses. Also, many more players get injured. Even if you watch it on television, I don’t think it’s worth it, you don’t understand who is playing or when. For the ATP, money is what matters, but it’s not just that…

After having one of his best seasons by every standard, Humbert has revealed that he thought too much about his ranking this year. The World No. 19 stated that it made him exhausted.

I’m going to try to get out of this thing of thinking too much about the ranking as much as possible, because I really burned myself out with that. Wanting to be in it too much; it really exhausted me. I want to try to be as ready as possible physically and mentally to play.
