Ahead of the much-awaited 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final, ICC named the four umpires who will be officiating the match to be held on 9th March. A list of four senior umpires has been named, with Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth taking charge of on-field duties.
India and New Zealand will face off in the summit clash of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. The match is being played in the Middle East despite Pakistan being the host nation. It is owing to India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan, citing security reasons. Meanwhile, the two finalists will face each other for the second time after having previously clashed in the group stage.
ICC has named Australia’s Paul Reiffel and England’s Richard Illingworth as the on-field umpires. Meanwhile, Trinidadian Joel Wilson and Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Dharmasena have been named as the third and fourth umpires, respectively. Ex-Sri Lankan cricketer and panel chief Ranjan Madugalle has been named as the match referee.

Ravi Shastri surprisingly picks two players who could win the Man of the Match in the Champions Trophy final
Ex-Indian national team coach Ravi Shastri surprisingly predicted Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel to win the Man of the Match award in the 2025 Champions Trophy final. Shockingly, he left out two of India’s top performers, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, in the process.

India has enjoyed a dominant run in the Champions Trophy and will be aiming to lift the title for the third time when they face New Zealand in the final. Ahead of the match, Shastri picked Jadeja or Axar to emerge as the star player in the final. The two left-arm spin-bowling all-rounders have had a decent run in the competition so far. They have contributed both with the bat and the ball.
Player of the Match, I would go for an all-rounder. I’ll say Axar Patel or Ravindra Jadeja from India. From New Zealand, I think that Glenn Phillips has something up.
Ravi Shastri said in the ICC Review (H/T ICC Cricket)
Moreover, he added that should New Zealand win the match, Glenn Phillips would bag the honor. The 28-year-old Kiwi all-rounder has been brilliant this term, captivating fans with both his batting and fielding abilities.
