Unfazed by 51-point defeat, Stephen Curry thoroughly confident about Warriors getting over slump
Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were hammered by the Memphis Grizzlies - a humiliating 51-point deficit defeat.

The Golden State Warriors lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 144-93, a demoralizing 51-point thumping, extending their downward trend. After opening the season 12-3, the Warriors have now lost 9 of their last 11 games, setting a new low with this loss.
For the first time in his career, Stephen Curry did not make a field goal while playing at least 12 minutes, making it a night to remember. He had a terrible shooting night, finishing with only two points, both from free throws. Curry maintains his optimism in spite of this, admitting that there is a need for urgency but maintaining that the club is not in a panic state.
You gotta accept where you at and buck up and try to figure out how to change the momentum of the season.

Steph Curry believes Warriors will get out of this slump. He says the vibes are better than they were last season when they lost by 52 at Boston in March. He says Warriors are better than how they’ve been playing of late. pic.twitter.com/LICabYpkIy

The Grizzlies dominated from beginning to end, and the Warriors’ subpar performance was a team effort. Both the final margin of 51 points and the deficit of 57 points were the biggest in the NBA this season. Steve Kerr, the coach, called the defeat “humbling,” and Curry accepted responsibility for his own subpar performance, saying, “I’ve got to be better than that.”
In addition to being the Warriors’ lowest point of the season, this loss was among their worst regular-season losses ever. The Warriors’ inability to play consistently and defend has been highlighted by the fact that they have already lost three regular-season games by more than 50 points in the previous five years.
Stephen Curry aside, Steve Kerr offers candid assessment following Golden State Warriors’ demoralizing 51-point defeat
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the media after his team’s dismal 144-93 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Kerr acknowledged that the defeat was a humbling experience, with the Grizzlies outperforming the Warriors in every aspect of the game from the opening quarter.
He praised the Grizzlies’ impressive display, while also emphasizing the need for his team to regroup and work on their weaknesses.
It was just a humbling night all around. They took it to us. They were great. We just couldn’t get anything going in the first quarter. They took us out of their stuff. They did a great job defensively. And everything just went south from there. Give them credit, but we got a lot of work to do.
Steve Kerr told the reporters
All of the Warriors’ players struggled to contribute to the team’s lackluster performance. Dennis Schroder, a recent addition, did not do well either, scoring only five points on 2-12 shooting, while Stephen Curry had an especially poor night, scoring just two points on 0-7 shooting. Only 26 points were scored by the Warriors’ starters combined, while Andrew Wiggins and Brandin Podziemski, two bench players, led the club in scoring.
